Winemaking Philosophy
We are committed to low input winemaking utilizing uninoculated primary
fermentation and malolactic fermentation. Low input winemakeing also includes
gravity flow movements of wine, minimal acid adjustments, minimal SO2 additions,
racking only once in barrel, no fining and no filtering when possible. This
process is much slower and more time consuming but produces wine lush on the
palate with seamless flavors.
Vineyards
Our Rose of Pinot is a blend
of 2 vineyards; Ruxton & TNT. Both vineyards are within 5 miles between to the
town of Occidental and Sebastopol.
Winemaking
The 2011 growing season was more difficult than most. Ripening came late add then hurried. This
Rosé was made from the saignee method of bleeding juice from the tanks of Pinot Noir. Slow cold
stainless steel fermentation with no ML. The wine never saw any wood and was bottled early March 2012.
Winemaker's Notes
PMV Rosé of Pinot Noir is a pale salmon color with notes of wild strawberry, rhubarb and pink grapefruit with a soft round texture and balanced acidity.
